British Airways and Isracard have for the first time signed an agreement that will enable Isracard holders from 1st August 2010 to exchange their Isracard stars for either a flight ticket or a flight upgrade on British Airways or on any of the airlines that are part of the OneWorld alliance, with flights to one of about 700 destinations worldwide.

In addition, British Airways is offering its customer a return flight on the London to Tel Aviv route for $399 inclusive of taxes and surcharges when purchased by the 9th July. According to Yael Katan, British Airways Commercial Manager in Israel, holders of a credit card belonging to the Isracard group can take advantage of a range of services given by British Airways, as well as benefitting from additional bonuses from the prestigious Executive Club.
 

Dov Kotler, CEO of the Isracard Group said that the company sees great strategic value in this service and the added value that it provides to its customer “Cooperation with British Airways is a natural extension of these policies,” he said.

The new collaboration between British Airways and Isracard enables accumulated Isracard stars to be converted in the ratio of 1 star for every 20 miles of British Airways travel. Gold card holders will benefit with a higher conversion rate of 1 star to 23 air miles, while Platinum card holders will receive 26 air miles for every star.

In order to qualify for an economy class return air ticket between Tel Aviv and London an Isracard customer will be required to convert 1,000 stars, while a Platinum card holder will need to convert 770 stars.
